Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Seychelles, will attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda, from June 20 to 25, 2022.
The CHOGM will begin with an official opening ceremony on Friday, June 24th, and will be followed by the major high-level meetings of Heads of Government from Friday, June 24th through Saturday, June 25th.
The President will also attend the Heads of Government Retreat and various side events as part of the CHOGM activities.
The CHOGM was originally scheduled for June 2020, but was twice postponed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CHOGM will be attended by nearly 30 heads of state and government, as well as high-ranking officials and diplomats.
The President will leave the country on Wednesday, June 22, and return on Sunday, June 26. Vice-President Ahmed Afif will assume President Ramkalawan’s duties and obligations while he is away from the nation.
